Our School

CVJS is a popular school located in Churchdown Village, which has good communications with both Gloucester and Cheltenham.

The school has excellent links with the community via St Andrews Church, a tireless
PTA and various sport and interest clubs.

Many of our children transfer to the two local secondary schools. They both enjoy excellent county-wide reputations.

Hey, We Won!

Sam Maszlag, Luke Catchpole, Joe Mullis, James Foylan, Isobel Lisowski, Lucy Speight, Aneasu Mtetwa, Francessca Hummel, Rebecca Nield, Bethany Morse.

In December 2007 the above children from Year 5 and Year 6 won a poster competition sponsored by Tesco, for which they were awarded a day out at the Gloucester Rugby Club in Kingsholm.

They had a guided tour, met the players and joined in a training session. Finally, they watched a match from 'The Shed' in the South Stand.

We are Officially a Healthy School!

We are pleased to report that we have recently met the criteria which gives us

National Healthy Schools Status

2007 - 2010

No more crisps or chocolate biscuits at CVJS!

The overall winner of this hard fought competition was Sam Maszlag with his very inventive and amusing picture which not only fulfils the competition criteria, but also allows his unique sense of humour and style to shine through.

Well done Sam!

PTA

Our PTA are constantly looking for new members.

You do not have to become a "full" member but could volunteer your services  to help out at the various fundraising activities they hold. e.g. School Discos, Film Night, Sports Days etc.

It is not a huge commitment and our current PTA members would be more than happy to advise about the various roles.

Please support if you can as many events will not happen without you!

Nature Garden

The garden is now maturing nicely and is a welcome addition to our school grounds.

Along with our seated areas outside the classrooms, it offers a quiet and tranquil place to take the children during the school day with the added advantage that there is  some shade.

I will post some up to date photos in the spring.
