Torquay Times (late edition)

They think its all over……….

What a super final day in Torquay. Red faces all round (especially when Mrs. Warren dropped her towel in the canoeing session) as a result of a beautiful sunny day.

As a break from pasta we had rice for dinner (tell the Italians and Indians there is a recession!) but with more palatable accompaniments.

Several children got rather dirty on the sensory trail. They followed this up with Canadian canoeing on the lake it was a cross between Swallows and Amazons and Charlie and the last of the Muckyeans.

Lizzie Ganderton washed her hair for the nth time this week- this time in the lake- sadly she hasn’t taken the shampoo- we had the head but not the shoulders.

Sophie Green has finally had a shower after discovering what was hidden behind that curtain in the bathroom.

Toby Brick has had several unfortunate minor accidents as a result of restricted vision caused by permanently wearing pink framed sunglasses (I even think he sleeps in them).

Jack MacKay has been running plastering classes during mealtimes. The way he applies the butter to a vertically held slice of bread smacks of pure professionalism. No need for a trowel here!

After watching children climb to great heights using just rope ladders and tyres don’t be surprised to find them shinning up drainpipes and on to your roof on the weekend.

And so as you read this final edition of the Torquay Times it only remains for the children to perform the miracle of packing of the suitcase, our Friday morning activities to complete, an early lunch and coach ride home. Looking forward to seeing you soon.

…………………it is now.
