Haiku's Written by Year 5
Now Autumn is here,
Twirly leaves falling off trees,
Harvest moon has come.

Waking up to mist.
The apples are ripening,
I say fall leaves, fall.

Harvest Festivals.

Tabitha Smith

Leaves all around me,
hearing crunchy sounds below.
Leaves all on the floor.

Under the chestnut trees,
I stare at shining conkers
falling from above.

Crystal spider's web
Glinting in the weak sunshine,
A bleak misty morning.

Abi Parkes

Standing with the crops,
I stare at the dappled sun,
Waiting for it to set.

Elliott Creed

Bramley apple pie,
tasty, warm golden custard.
The best dessert ever.

Year 6 Short Stories in 50 Words based on Nursery Rhymes
Rock-a-bye Baby

There was once a young baby rocking in an apple tree. Suddenly the wind blew, causing the wicker cradle to rock. But the wind just wouldn't stop . . . CRASH! The branch snapped, the cradle split and down fell the baby. Just as she landed, a caring woman walked by, and took her to a pretty cottage, but unfortunately she died!

This Little Piggy

The first little piggy named Jeff went to the market. The second little piggy named Fred stayed at home to knit new clothes. The third little piggy called Bomba ate all the roast beef. The fourth little piggy named Bobby stomped off to his room because he had none. And (you guessed it), the last little piggy named Jill darted wa-wa-wa home.

Humpty Dumpty

Humpty was sitting on a wall, looking at hills. The head chef of a breakfast bar came and tried to crack him (he was trying to beat the world record for the biggest omlette). He did it! The navy came and tied Humpty together with shoe laces. But unfortunately, it didn't work.
