Religious Education

R.E. is taught throughout the school as a core subject.

The syllabus reflects that Christianity is the principal religion in Great Britain, but takes into account the fact that other religions, beliefs and practices also exist.

The wider implications of R.E. are extremely important and we believe in fostering an atmosphere of caring and empathy and a sense of right and wrong.

A child may be excused from R.E. or corporate acts of worship undertaken in assembly if parents write to the Headteacher making such a request.

The school is not affiliated to a particular religious denomination, but we do maintain links with our local churches who provide a regular input into our whole school assemblies.
