Food & Drink

Children can bring a packed lunch or purchase a hot meal.  Packed lunches should be brought to school in a strong marked container.  No glass bottles, cans or fizzy drinks.

Meals are available at a cost of £1.75 per day (£8.75 per week).  They must be paid for on Mondays, irrespective of the days on which the meal is taken.  People wishing to pay by cheque should make cheques payable to Sodexho Ltd.  (Please note Sodexho do not accept cheques for less than £8.75). If it is more convenient, meals can be paid for a half-term or a term in advance.  Money should be sent in an envelope with the child's name, class and the days of the week on which meals are to be taken written on the outside.  The school office is not involved in the administration or money collecting of school meals.  This is done by Sodexho Ltd., who operate from the school kitchen.

Drinks in School

There has been much publicity about the potential problems of dehydration among school pupils.  In order to avoid this pupils are allowed to bring sports type water bottles to school to keep on their desks.  Only "sports" top water bottles and water are allowed.  These can be filled from taps in the classroom. This combination presents the lowest risk of spillage and the least amount of harm if there is a problem.

Morning Break Snacks

Pupils are allowed to bring in something to eat at mid-morning break which should be kept in their classroom tray.  Foods high in fat or sugar are the least appropriate for this purpose.  The School Council feel that crisps are not suitable for morning break and they are banned.

The school is committed to promoting healthy eating and would canvass the help of parents and carers in supporting our aims by providing nutritious and healthy snacks and packed lunches.
