Driving & Parking
It is far better for children's health and independence to walk or cycle to school. If a car has to be used please follow both the Highway Code and normal standards of courtesy.
If a car does have to be used it is a good compromise to park in the church or Parish Council car parks. Children can then be escorted to the school side of the road before being allowed to walk to school.
Cars should not drive into the school car park (either the infant or junior school) at the beginning or the end of the day.
Cars should not park anywhere within the lines that indicate the pupils' crossing area and the no parking signs or the entrance areas for the upper car park. We receive many complaints from local residents in The Piece and The Avenue each year because their drives have been blocked by our parents' cars.
