Curriculum Complaints Procedure

Under the 1988 Act, the Authority has established arrangements for the consideration of parents' complaints about the school's curriculum and related matters.

It covers matters relating to the National Curriculum and includes provision of external exam courses, religious education, the operation of the school's charging policy in relation to the curriculum and the provision of information.

The procedure provides for complaints to be directed initially to the Headteacher for informal resolution.  If this fails, however, a formal appeals procedure is available to parents.

The following documents may be inspected at schools, by arrangement with the Headteacher and, except for (a) and (b), copies may be obtained at cost.

(a)              LEA's Curriculum Policy

(b)            Written statement of any Governor policy for the secular curriculum

(c)             The Curriculum Complaints Procedure

(d)             The agreed syllabus for Religious Education

(e)              School Charging Policy

(f)              Admissions Policy

(g)              Behaviour Policy
