4E Trip to the Wilderness

                             The Wilderness Centre

My favourite activity was on Monday when we went to do some art in the woods. The artist we copied was called Andy Goldsworthy. I made a face out of all natural things like pinecones, moss, twigs, leaves, pine needles and lots more. I made it in a deciduous wood. We all made some very impressive things like snakes, shelters, campfires, rabbits, hedgehogs and lots more amazing sculptures. Mrs Elliot took lots of pictures of the sculptures. I also enjoyed the way there because I slipped over in the mud as brown as chocolate and everyone laughed at me.

The Wilderness Centre

We were walking through this wonderful dark wood towards a spring. As we walked through the wood the tall trees towered above us. It was like walking in a forgotten world. The wood was down a steep slope so we had to turn our boots to an angle to climb.

Eventually we reached the bottom of the slope, then we stopped and waited for the others to catch up. We carried on a little while through some mud and to the left of us was a hill with loads of bushes, it was amazing!  On one of the hills was a pathway for us to walk down. Ahead of us was a lovely, peaceful stream witch was called a spring, it poured out of the hill. We settled down and Kate our leader told us to be quiet and listen to the sounds.

Afterwards we did an activity to do with acid and alkalis. Then we all had our lunch. Next we had a stream walk and the sounds were beautiful noises. It sounded like a waterfall with a bubbling noise in the background.

My Favourite Trip

I loved going up the climbing wall because I got to walk round the room like spider man quite quickly. I also walked across a door ( I thought I was being naughty) but it was fantastic!. I liked climbing plumb hill because it took a long time to get to the top and my speciality is climbing hills. Getting to sleep was hard because Zack T made so much noise (I had to put my head under my pillow because it was real annoying). On Tuesday doing pond dipping was excellent because I found loads of creatures in my net all shapes and sizes as well as weird. Having a race up the hill was tiring because I had to catch my breath. I loved the muddy hand test so much because I love getting dirty. Going to 3 different places using an unusual tool was something that I never do. Now the funs over I’m back at school but I’m still happy that I had a great time at the Wilderness Centre.
