Dear Parents
Procedure for Severe Weather Conditions
As you may be aware, there is a severe weather warning out for our region over the next 24 hours. Whilst it would be very unusual for our school to be closed because of snow, I felt it would be an appropriate time to let you know of the procedure for getting up-to-date information.
A list of schools that are closed will be posted on the following website: www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/closedschools/ . There will also be regular bulletins on local radio stations such as BBC Gloucestershire and Severnsound. Please don’t telephone the school or the Local Authority. In the unlikely event that the school is closed, staff will not be available to answer calls. If the school is not mentioned in the radio bulletins or on the website then you may assume that the school is open as usual.
Parents Evenings
Lists have been displayed on the noticeboard in reception since Monday. If you have not already “signed-up” and are wishing to see your child’s teacher, please do so as soon as possible. Lists will be removed on the Monday morning for that evening and Wednesday morning for Wednesday’s meetings. Although teachers will accept “last minute” appointments, they may be at times that are less convenient to you.
Three days and two nights in The Wilderness
Look out for a display of photographs and captions summing up the recent Year 4 visit to the Forest of Dean. A successful first venture into the relative unknown.
Quiz Night
Perhaps it is due to the fact that teachers’ teams keep winning that has resulted in fewer teams entering the PTA Quiz on Friday. It’s not too late to get a team of MENSA quality together to prise the title away from us!
Yours sincerely,
D A Clough
