Dear Parents
A big thank you to everyone who either contributed or bought books during our recent Book Week. Our book fair took £647, which converts to £297 worth of free books for CVJS.
Our second-hand sale took an amazing £91.19 (which in 2ps takes quite a lot of counting!) Mrs Priest’s Writers Group sold copies of their story book at this event – the stall was empty in about 15 minutes! We shall top up our selection of story tapes with this money – thank you to everyone!
On the subject of money, our free dress day for Children in Need resulted in a donation from the school of £225. This will be sent to the appeal to boost the record total they raised on the night. Thank you again!
Following the recent Parent Governor election, I am happy to inform you that Mrs Rachel Cottell has been duly appointed to the Board of Governors of CVJS. Mrs Cottell has a child in Year 4 and is a Teacher/Teaching Assistant at the infant school and a church administrator. We look forward to her involvement in the governance of the school.
On Thursday 29th November we will be having a meeting to help formulate our School Disability Equality Scheme. We are keen to monitor our ability to be considered an inclusive school and as such would welcome either your comments or attendance at the meeting which will run from 08.00 to 09.00 a.m.
Tomorrow is the day of filming for the “SchoolDays” DVD. I hope it remains dry so that any outside activities can take place and that all our children look angelic in front of the camera.
Yours sincerely,
D A Clough
