Dear Parents

There may be some of you who, either out of choice or as a result of peer pressure, do not wake up to Wogan.  Should this be the case and should you have no access to BBC online or TV then I will need to remind you that this coming Friday is, once again, Children in Need Day.  Remember, the theme this year is “Trio rhywbeth gwahanol yn y gwasaneth” so you might like to consider your own slant on our Free Dress Day on Friday.  As usual we hope that pupils will donate £1 to the appeal in return for the opportunity to forego school uniform.

On Friday evening the fun continues with a children’s disco run by our PTA.  Entrance is £2 on the door – Years 3 and 4 from to and Years 5 and 6 from

The dark evenings are drawing in and Mr Ahmad and Mrs Priest would like to remind parents and pupils that their clubs will cease at the end of November until the beginning of the Spring Term.  I will keep you informed about other club information as I receive it.  I had 13 replies from Year 4 children asking to attend Golf Club, so I expect to see all of them for the first session on Wednesday 21st November.

Thank you to all those who attended our Curriculum Evening last Wednesday.  As I mentioned on the night, we will be sending out a questionnaire to gather your thoughts on other possible topics to be covered in a similar way.  I have had no feedback from parents on what they thought about the evening and would be interested to have any opinions you may wish to share with me regarding content, format, timing or any other issue.

I mentioned in the letter containing dates for this term that there would be a Schooldays video recording on Monday 26th November.  This has now been changed to Wednesday 28th November to accommodate the production team who requested the change.

Attached to this letter is a Fair Processing Notice concerning data protection that the school is obliged to send to parents annually.

Finally, if you have not already done so, can I suggest you visit the school web site at www.churchdownjunior.ik.org where you can read any of those letters that never got home, as well as check up on dates and other information pertaining to the school.

Yours sincerely,

D A Clough
